OVERVIEW

The course provides a comprehensive overview of the use of corporate communication in contemporary organizations, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities offered by a fast-changing media environment. The course combines theoretical concepts from communication, psychology and media economics with practical insights from real-world experiences to examine the following topics: communication and stakeholder management; forging corporate identity and corporate reputation; managing relations with traditional and new media; issue management and crisis communication; the public affairs dimension of corporate communication. The course is based on the reading of corporate memos, policy briefs, and academic papers, and is organized around the analysis of case studies from a range of industries.
